MY NEW TECHNICAL SHIRT

I recently ordered a technical shirt from RunningBanana.com. It looks great! The t-shirt from CafePress.com I've been wearing in races is getting rust stains and holes from the bib pins. It also retains water.

I plan to use Velcro to attach bibs to it. I hope it'll keep me drier when I'm sweating like a little piggy during The Flying Pig Marathon next Sunday!

You're doing a great job man! I'm dying to know, have you ever done a marathon before? I see you've done a half already. Great job, keep going!

Thanks for the comments! I've never done a marathon before. I did two half-marathons while in high school, around 1979.

Read your comments on Runner's World and wanted to check out your site. You are doing amazing and should be really proud of yourself for all the effort you are putting into it and the great results you are seeing. Good luck at the Flying Pig, I hear it is a really fun race.

Thanks d.!

It's been an interesting four months. I can't wait for next spring, when I plan to train outdoors. All-indoor training makes the road/trail courses all that much more special .... fresh air! Wii Fit has no hill training, so I'm very weak in that area. Thankfully, it looks like most of the hills at The Flying Pig come in the first 25%, with the last 75% being mostly an easy downhill descent.

I read your comments on RunnersWorld and had to check out your blog. You've proven them wrong. poo-pooing the Wii fit? My attitude is, if you gets people up and moving around, it's a good thing. I haven't used mine in months, but I'm thinking about pulling it out today.

Good luck in the marathon. I'll be checking in to see how you do. My prediction 5:45.

Thanks! I agree ... whatever it takes to get people moving. I love the look on peoples' faces after they ask how I'm losing weight and I reply "Oh, just playing video games all day".

I'd love to complete The Flying Pig in 5:45. However, on the registration form, they requested a predicted time and I wrote "6:59:59" (one second before the course closes).
