39 WEEKS!

Another minimalist week, but the streak survives! Thirty-nine weeks of Wii Fit!

Wii Fit Plus comes out on Sunday ... of course, I have it pre-ordered.

Seeing "39 Weeks!" just now I had a sudden flashback to pregnancy where the goal is 40 Weeks! (gives quick shake of head) ;)

Way to go!

well done Gregory.

i'm also using Wii to get fit. Ordered it last year after my father fell seriously ill, primarily because he was SO unfit. I decided I didn't want to get like him. Sadly he has since died, but SOME good has come from his demise.

I am down to 13 stone 5(187 pounds), from 15 stone 4(214 pounds).

using it now to do long runs. on Sunday just gone I did a 15 mile run on Wii fit, and COULD have gone further. Was even thinking about attempting a marathon, but wisely decided against it. best to build up slowly to something like that i think.

here's my last Wii weight chart..

I'm finding the long jogs are the best for losing weight and getting fit. Also do some yoga after the jog to stretch my muscles. I feel great after the exercising too. Best thing we've EVER bought this is.

Keep up the good work.

lol

after me saying it's best to take things slowly, I only went and did a Wii Fit Marathon this morning, didn't I?

took me 2 hrs 46 minutes.

5 30 minute jogs, and one of 16 minutes, for a total of 42204 metres, just over the marathon distance.

Exhausted now, but feeling quite proud of myself.

ps

I'm in the Uk if you're wondering why that last comment was published so early.

does this make me the unofficial world record holder now, because I can't see anyone else on the web who has done this, although I haven't really looked that hard? :-) (only kidding. i don't really care. just getting fit is my aim)

here's the breakdown of my run..

1st 30 - 757o metres
2nd 30 - 7593
3rd 30 - 7715
4th 30 - 7806
5th 30 - 7686
last 16 minutes - 3834

2 hrs 46 minutes

total 42204 metres, Marathon distance is 42195 metres

there you go everyone, beat that! lol

Hey Mark!

I'll acknowledge that's a fine workout ... and I don't know of anyone who has done better. But, my elliptical machine typically credits me for less than half the distance that Wii Fit does! Ouch! For example, I just completed a 10-minute run (my first since The Two Bear Marathon ... over a month ago!). I took it easy and did around 1.4 miles according to the Wii, but the elliptical machine said it was only 0.6 miles. Since the elliptical machine knows exactly what my stride is, I think it's more accurate.

I try not to get too hung up on numbers, though. A great workout is a great workout, regardless of what the numbers say! Cheers!

Hi Greg. I tell you what, i've been suffering this past two days! lol

that was a BIG mistake. I proved to myself I'm a lot fitter than I thought I was though, I suppose.

Thursday night, I went to bed, and had stabbing aches and pains all over my body, and yesterday, I was well tired. Even today, my legs are still aching, and I am still feeling quite tired.

I understand it's not a TRUE representation of the distance covered, but you STILL have to do it, to do it, if you know what I mean? lol

My tip to anyone else thinking of doing this is CHECK with your doctor first if you are up to it! don't just dive in and do it like I did.

i MAY have another jog tomorrow, I'll see how I feel. (a more modest one this time!)

LMAO

well done on doing ACTUAL marathons BTW!

TBH, when I first saw your site, I thought it would be about people who did Marathons on Wii Fit. lol
