I'M COMMITTED (OR "I SHOULD BE COMMITTED!")

"Committed" ... one little word, multiple meanings.

I signed up for the New Hampshire Marathon on October 3rd. I've paid my money. I'm committed.

I signed up for the Maine Marathon on October 4th ... the very next day. I've paid my money. I'm committed.

My first double. I probably SHOULD be committed.

yup, certifiably insane. I can't wait till I get the opportunity to do two in a row! Where in NH is the NH marathon? My family lives there!

Bristol, NH ... at Newfound Lake! If you join Crazy Steph and me, you could have your family be your personal cheering section!

oooh I am crazy enough to wish I could! However, I already committed to run Baltimore Marathon on October 10th. I don't know that my legs could take all three, although that would definately get me a marathon manicac status!!

If Baltimore were on Sunday, rather than Saturday, I'd join you. I'm planning on doing Hartford on Saturday and Scranton on Sunday. PA has a lot more marathons than MD, but about the same as CT.

Back to back days - impressive! I live about 45 minutes from Newfound Lake - it's beautiful, but hilly (everywhere is up here!). I'm tentatively planning to run Hartford and then Manchester (NH) a month later. That'll be my first time doing two in one month if I commit to it - need to up my mileage!

I'm thinking about doing an earlier double ... I think it's Sept. 12 & 13 ... Salmon, ID & Whitefish, MT ... just to see if I
up for a double before October rolls around. In October, I'd like to do the following doubles: NH & ME, Hartford & Scranton, VT & RI, CA & OR. If I can't do a single double in September, I'll know I can't do back-to-back-to-back-to-back doubles in October.

Keep in mind, I'm a slow runner and I'm not trying to set any PRs. I'm just trying to survive. Until I complete the 50 States, I can't afford to go all-out and take a chance on getting a DNF. I really hope to finish it by the end of 2011. Then, I can take chances. Also, hopefully I'll be 50+ pounds lighter and chasing PRs will seem more fruitful.
