HOT AND HILLY

The Park-To-Park Half Marathon was hotter and hillier than I'd hoped for. Still, I managed to meet my goal. My time was 2:20:52. Thanks to my running companion, Jane, for helping me through the final 7-8 miles. I started off running with someone aiming for 2:00:00 and I crashed and burned around mile marker 5. Heat and humidity nearly did me in.
I wasn't impressed with the course ... it was relatively bland and featureless. There were very few spectators. Most of the course wasn't closed to traffic and the locals showed little regard for runners, driving WAY too fast and WAY too close for comfort. This is a recipe for disaster.
