I remember you crazy Chi-Town girls! Come back next year ... the hills were THAT bad, were they? I'm really sore right now, but it was worth it! Have a safe trip back to The Windy City!

Lys, thanks for the comments! I felt like I breezed through the first half, but really struggled that last 8 miles. Interestingly, my first half time mile time was almost exactly the same as my second half time. I guess I must have pushed it too hard on miles 13 through 18!

Actually, I meant "the hills weren't THAT bad".

Great job! I ran a half yesterday in Vancouver and remember thinking that you were doing the Flying Pig today. Glad to see you finished and suffered through those last couple miles. What's next?

What's next? I'm scrambling to find a nearby 5-10K road race for this weekend. In two weeks, there's a half marathon nearby that I'm contemplating.

I've to say I was one of the runners on the skeptical side about this, I tought this would be a journey to disaster but you succesfully tough it out. I'm speechless.
You've accomplished so much in just a few months, I'm sincerly impressed.
Great done man!

Thanks! I'm also surprised. If you read my post after my first race (a trail 10K), I didn't think I could do it, either. I had set my sights for the 2010 Flying Pig. I was embarrassed by my overly-optimistic assessment of my readiness. I had even purchased one of those T-shirts that said "I'll run a marathon when pigs fly". Now I can wear it!

I had worked hard preparing for it, though. I've averaged about 15 hours of workout per week since January and about 20+ hours per week for the past several weeks. What I lacked in physical preparation I made up for in stubbornness. I'm not mentally tough, but I am stubborn as a mule!
